Looking forward to 2009

2008 has been quite an interesting year, from leaving Google to starting a new company, but I definitely didn't accomplish a lot of the things that I set out to do. Starting a company has been an incredible and challenging experience, but I've missed out on a lot of my personal goals. So, I thought that, this year, I'd publish my goals in a public way, which will hopefully motivate me to keep more than 10% of them.

So, here's what I'd like to accomplish in 2009, in no particular order (well, scattered like my brain):
  • Travel internationally at least twice
  • Take at least 3 vacations that don't involve travelling home or going to weddings
  • Blog at least once a week for the entire year
  • Launch a new website around a biz idea I have
  • Buy a house
  • Start reading again; it's sad when I think about the last real book I've read
  • Buy a new road bike
  • Break 90 in an 18-hole round
  • Speak on 2 panels
  • Grow out my hair
  • Be better about staying in touch with people
  • Hike Half Dome
  • Build a better Howcast
  • Start writing code again
  • Read the newspaper
  • Start investing again
  • Less ESPN, More CNN
I'm certainly looking forward to the suckyness that is 2008 to have passed. Here's to a better year.

We should get two of those off the list at the same time - I want to climb half dome this year too! :) Name the date/time...

Awesome! We'll definitely do it. Hopefully in May sometime.
